Keebs were approached by Melin in regards to there 4 properties at Osborne Rd Pontypool, as part of Melin continuing commitment to enhancing there existing stock they had chosen the units as a pilot scheme to create a Passivhaus.
With an ambitions scheme designed by Simmonds Mills Architect to achieve the relevant design criteria Keebs looked upon the project as an interesting challenge.
Keebs were appointed as the Principle Contractor working with Melin preferred roofing contractor ATH.
The project included the gables and front elevation Externally Insulated with a 150mm Mineral wool supplied by Rockwool.
450mm I Beams were fitted to the rear elevation, the existing roof was stripped off and a warm roof construction was created lifting the roof line whilst tying in the rear walls.
Grant funding was supplied on the scheme by the BRE and through Arbed.
Kathrens Holdings was formed in 2007 as a Holding company for WK Plasterers Ltd and it's associate Company,Carbis Properties Ltd. WK Plasterers Ltd was set up in 1971 providing operatives to the Volume New Build Sector.
The Group has then developed further by adding the subsiduaries, KEEBS & Carbis Partnership Homes.
Through recent years the company has pushed into new areas of trade with a key emphasis on the Enhancement And Upgrading of Traditional Build Systems by using novel and innovative solutions.
